CARES Act Emergency Assistance
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act allocates funds to support individuals and businesses/organizations, including colleges and universities, affected by the pandemic and economic downturn. UT has received funds under the CARES Act and is working to provide emergency assistance to as many students as possible to help them meet their emergency financial needs during this challenging time.
This is the official CARES Act application for emergency funds for the University of Texas at Austin. In order to receive funds from UT, you must complete this CARES Act application. We advise students to be aware of third-party vendors soliciting your information and acting as an official application for the CARES Act fund.
Why didn’t I receive a CARES Act emergency fund award?
Under U.S. Department of Education rules for the program, students who are not eligible for federal financial aid programs are not eligible for federal CARES grants.
For eligibility criteria, see the “Who is eligible to receive assistance?” FAQ.

What additional resources are available if I need access to food?
The UT Outpost Delivery Request is available to current students, living in the City of Austin, who are in need of food assistance. Students may request and receive a delivery once per calendar month. All participants of the food pantry program must accept the liability waiver found at the end of the Request Form.
