Grants

Grants are a form of need-based financial aid that does not need to be repaid. Eligibility is determined by the information you provide on your FAFSA. Grants are awarded by the federal and state governments, as well as by UT.

Federal Grants

• Federal Pell Grant: Awarded to undergraduate students with significant financial need. Eligibility and annual amounts are determined by Congress and can change from year to year.
• Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program: Awarded to undergraduate students with the greatest financial need; helps supplement the Federal Pell Grant.

State Grants

• TEXAS Grant: Provides financial assistance to undergraduate, in-state students with financial need who are enrolled at Texas colleges or universities. Learn more at My Texas Future.
• Texas Public Education Grant: Provides financial assistance to undergraduate, in-state students with financial need who are enrolled at Texas colleges or universities. Learn more at My Texas Future.

UT Grants

UT awards a variety of grants to undergraduate, in-state students who have financial need. Submit your FAFSA every year to be considered for these institutional grants.
