Internship Courses
UT is committed to making internships accessible to students of all financial backgrounds, including by offering special rate internship courses for Summer 2026. Internship course and degree requirements vary, so please check with your academic advisor about the process and timeline for enrolling.
Credit-Bearing Internship Courses
Through University Extension (UEX), one– and three–hour internship courses will be offered at a special rate of $500, six–hour courses will be offered at a rate of $1,000, and nine-hour courses will be offered at $1,500. The registration fee for these courses is the same for all students, regardless of residency status.
Student Payment Process
Undergraduate Students Receiving Financial Aid
Students who receive tuition support through Texas Advance Commitment (TAC) are eligible for additional UEX summer internship course discounts; students receiving full tuition support through TAC are eligible for a 100% discount, and students receiving partial tuition support through TAC are eligible for a 10% discount.
Students receiving financial aid and who need to delay payment due to the timing of the award may select “Check or Other” as their payment method when they register for a course. Once the registration is received, UEX will coordinate with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to confirm their eligibility. After aid eligibility is confirmed, UEX will process the registration and provide the deadline to pay no later than two weeks after the course start date. Students should expect a delay between the time they submit their registration and when UEX staff process their registration.
All Other Undergraduate Students
All other students enrolling in UEX summer internship courses will be required to provide payment for their course(s) at the time of registration.
More information about payments and financial aid for UEX internship courses is available on the UEX website.
Zero-Credit Internship Course
Career Success offers EXP 000/080, a free, zero-credit course available for students participating in internships and other career experiences. This online course provides self-guided assignments designed to enhance your career experience, along with other benefits.
More information on this course can be found on the Career Success website.
Education Abroad Courses
Faculty-led Summer 2026 study abroad courses will be offered for a discounted tuition of $500 for Texas undergraduate students and $2,000 for non-Texas residents. Students who apply by the program’s deadline may be selected for enrollment. Summer faculty-led program application deadlines and admissions timelines vary by program.
If you are interested in applying for one of these programs, visit the Texas Global Summer Faculty-Led webpage. Please note that the special rate for education abroad courses applies to faculty-led programs only, and does not include discounts or scholarships towards other costs associated with education abroad, such as travel or program fees.
