Federal Student Loan Proration Calculator
Federal student loan eligibility may be affected by your enrollment level. Use this calculator to estimate how your enrollment may impact your federal student loan eligibility under the Schedule of Reductions (SOR).
For more information about these federal loan changes, visit the Federal Student Loan Changes webpage.
Using the Calculator
The calculator uses federal annual loan limits based on your student classification and dependency status. The calculator compares your enrolled credit hours with 24 credit hours for undergraduate students, or 18 credit hours for graduate and professional students, to help determine how much of your annual loan limit may be available.
If you have questions about your individual financial aid offer, visit My Financial Aid (MFA) and contact Texas One Stop for assistance.
Important Information
- Students who enroll less than full-time may see a reduction in their federal student loan eligibility based on their enrollment level.
- Changes to your enrollment before loan funds are disbursed may affect your loan eligibility for that term.
- Students who change their enrollment after receiving loan funds, including by dropping classes or withdrawing, may have future loan eligibility reviewed and prorated based on their updated enrollment.
- If your federal loan offer, accepted loan amount or enrollment has changed, this calculator may not reflect your individual circumstances.
This calculator is intended as a planning tool and provides estimates only. Results do not represent an official financial aid offer.
